New products...

Afternoon all....

Well the craft fair season is almost upon me and I have been putting the final touches to some new products.

First of all there are new handmade bath bombs to give the fun feeling of being a kid - I can't tell you how much fun I have had watching them fizz in the bath... They will be fragranced in enchantment which is my fave smell of late - a gorgeous fruity and floral, and there will be ones will lavender essential oil and lavender buds ...

Next up is some heavenly bath melts - I am soooooo in love with these! I love body oils, but can never be bothered with putting them on.  This cute melt puts cocoa butter and almond oil all in to your skin when you have a bath leaving your skin feeling delicious afterwards and full of moisture.  They will be available in Pure Heaven for those of us who have delicate skin with no smells added, enchantment and lavender essential oil...

Finally I am bringing in some new gift sets.  The example below would work out to be £9.75 with the box finished with ribbon.  At the craft events I will be offering a selection of "ready made" boxes, but also some create your own to personalise them to the tastes of your friends and family (or yourself if you would like a bit of pampering) all of the luxury handmade soaps, melts and bombs will be available to create your own gift set.

For details of where to find me at craft events in the Christmas build up, visit my website below...

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Craft fair planning!

Wow I have so much going round in my head to get ready for my Christmas (we are in October tomorrow so I now feel comfortable talking the C word!) craft events - the first one of which should be in 4 weeks time. I am just waiting on confirmation and then I will start letting you all know when and where you can come and see the gorgeous range of Buggalug Bubbles products!

Anyway I am in the process of making a list of everything I need to sort beforehand which seems to get longer by the day (I am obsessed with lists and would be so lost without them). So far I have....

Get more business cards
Sort out slate or chalk painted wood for displays
Finish playing with the gift set packaging and order the final boxes ready
Decided if I want printed ribbon and if so order it
Print logo labels
Make lots and lots of stock
Work on specific branding for sensitive range of products

I am sure that I am missing a fair few things off my list so if you can think of anything to add please let me know! I am sure the Los will grow quicker than I can add to it and I think I akin for a very busy month! Wish me luck!

Lots of love Buggalugs! X

Time flies when your having fun!

Goodness me where has the time gone! I cannot believe we are in September already!

After having a wonderful holiday in Cornwall in the gorgeous sunshine I am now raring to go getting my Christmas soapy plans in motion. I hav booked several craft events in November and early December in Devon and Cornwall and am starting to play with some more gift sets... I love these that I have featured at events so far and am looking to make more variety to suit all budgets...

I am thinking of having some pre-prepared boxes for people to fill with their chosen goodies to make them more personal and specific to the tastes of who they are buying for.

I have so many ideas whirring in my head at the moment and plan on spending tomorrow experimenting! I sooooo can't wait!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Blimey - its been ages since I last blogged!  I really need to get in to the habit of it more!

Well its been pretty busy here as I've been trying to spend more and more time focusing on my soaps and getting them out there.

Firstly I have been adding more things to my Etsy shop - http://www.etsy.com/shop/buggalugbubbles?ref=seller_info including tea tree soap and a delicious smelling enchantment soap (is it bad that I could just sit and smell it all day?  I am soooo addicted to this fragrance!) and there will be more to come shortly.

Next up I have been getting ready for my first weekend long event in just over a week at Carnglaze Caverns (its going to be in the caves so I have been told to wrap up warm even if its a scorcher outside!) near Liskeard in Cornwall http://www.carnglaze.com/the-crystals--crafts-show-line-up-2012.html

Finally, I have been making wedding favours for my friend.  It was a HUGE learning curve as I have only really made loaves of soap before and hearts was requested!  After putting my thinking cap on I came up with how I thought they would look good and the bride to be was happy.  Next was playing with purple to fit in with her colour scheme.  I have to say I was very proud of the results and sat looking at them before they went to the bride to be thinking - "WOW did I really make all of those myself from a pile of ingredients!?".  And I am happy to say the bride liked them as well...

For me one of the things I love about making soaps is seeing what can be created from oils and butters.

All in all its been busy lately, but all in a really good and positive way! I cannot wait to see what is around the corner for Buggalug Bubbles and will try and be much better at updating my blog.

For now though tata... x

New me and giveaway!

Hello and thank you for taking the time to stop and read my blog.

Please bear with me as it has been a while since I wrote on a blog and I may or may not start rambling!

For those who do not know me Buggalug Bubbles was officially born around July last year after spending the year before like a mad scientist concocting my soap recipe.  I have delicate skin (don't we all!) and wanted a soap that was creamy, lathered and left my skin feeling like it had been moisturised - so I set about playing with various ways of achieving this.  Once I had settled on a combination of ingredients I liked I had to get it certified by a chemist (something that is a legal requirement for anything that goes anywhere near anyones skin!).

Since getting my certification I have been gradually letting people know about my wares and started selling them to the general public - a scary process.  I am now at the point where I am getting more comfortable in the big scary world of selling handmade items (each of my soaps is made by my own fair hands) and am wanting to show off my products to more and more people.

I did my first craft fair in April, which to be honest was not as successful as I had hoped on the day, but as a result I have now had repeat orders from buyers on the day and an amazing order for some wedding favours - not a huge splash in the world of sales, but for me a big boost which has made me want to push myself more.  It has shown me that whilst the day itself was not huge on sales (thunder and lightening do not make people want to head outdoors unless essential), that just putting myself out there can lead to bigger and better things....

SO - this week I have taken the plunge and opened a new online shop at Etsy http://www.etsy.com/shop/buggalugbubbles?ref=ss_profile and have booked myself in for some more craft events later in the year.  The next one is on the 7th and 8th July at Carnglaze Caverns near Liskeard in Cornwall and I shall blog and tell you all about my preparations for it.

Now to celebrate the fact that I am pushing myself forward (however scared I am...) I am doing a giveaway!

The prize will be two of my Luxury Handmade soaps one of each of my Pure Luxury and Pure Oat full size bars.  All you have to do is tweet, facebook (http://www.facebook.com/buggalugbubbles) or blog about my new Etsy shop and let me know below or on twitter that you have done it (my twitter is @buggalugbubbles).  The closing date will be 31st May and the winner picked at random from the entries shortly afterwards - GOOD LUCK!

Lots of love Buggalugs x
